Biospan is a personalised nutrition clinic that offers private chef services globally. We work with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and make bespoke organic meals in their homes to transform their health. Our business is a high-tech startup that is making considerable growth. We have complex financial operations which need to be simplified and controlled by someone competent who admires order and organisation.
We are looking for a qualified accountant in the UK with experience in financial operations, tech, and small businesses to support our complex finance operations at Biospan.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- Qualified UK Accountant
- Provable experience with financial operations/architecture
- Leadership abilities to grow a team
- XERO expertise is essential.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience scaling small company financial operations to a large business
- Flexibility to accommodate changes in work hours if necessary.
- Team player who is excited to become a part of a startup
- Ability to grow with the company and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Location: Remote
Time: 14 hours per week
Salary: £1100 per month
Start Date: As soon as possibl

Responsibilities:
THE CREATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage payroll, VAT returns, pensions, student loans, and year end-accounts
- Co-ordinate between UK and USA subsidiaries and oversee legal requirements
- Design systems and operations for billing/receivables, payables, expenses, raising invoices, and late payments
- Manage taxes, and structure the business to stay on top of tax benefits and government incentives
- Develop cash flow reports to support investment-raising efforts
- Find ways to reduce costs and be ruthless in your execution to keep our company lean (in profit)
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for team members to support customer billing and expense operations
- Working with our tech team to develop financial automation to scale our services
OTHER CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bookkeeping, ledger management, customer billing, and weekly payroll
- Hiring (and managing) a part-time bookkeeper/assistant to support finance admin
