Description:
Our valued client Metal Recovery Industries based in Qld, is seeking an experienced Accountant (General) to join their friendly team of professionals.
The Company collects, salvages, and processes scrap metal goods for recycle and re use in regional and remote areas in Central North Queensland, including mining sites.
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Provide oversight of the over-all finance function including taking responsibility for the general ledger and balance sheet reviews
- Provide assistance and contribute in creating budgetary, accounting policies and forecasting activities
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and tax returns for internal and external customers
- Prepare management reports on a regular basis for presentation to boards of directors, management, and shareholders
- Review operating costs, income, and expenditure making sure it is within the company’s budgetary plans and means
- Ensure the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and its compliance with statutory requirements
- Perform due diligence when advising on matters such as purchase and sale of business, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency and taxation
- Ensure the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and its compliance with statutory requirements
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with clients and liaising with team leaders and directors as and when required
- Reconciling bank statements and general ledgers
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Participate in the annual internal and external auditing processes to ensure that appropriate systems are in place and maintained
- Ad hoc finance administration projects as required by the Financial Controller or CFO
To be considered for this role you must have:
- At least 5 years’ work experience in the same field
- Knowledge in various accounting software is highly desirable
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
- Demonstrated excellent organisational skills
- Strong attention to details
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent reporting skills
- Self-motivated, highly organised, punctual and reliable
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
- Can work independently or as part of a team
- Great work ethics
