Summary of Responsibilities
With supervision, provide support in all areas related to accounting. Applies the principles of accounting within assigned areas of responsibility. Supports assigned area managers with budgeting, latest estimate and 10 year business plan processes. Assists with compilation of financial information, processes journal entries into various accounts and reconciles reports and financial data.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university
- One year of related work experience in accounting / finance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in accounting or finance.
- One to three years of related work experience in accounting / finance.
Essential Skills
- Work is routine, consisting of simple, repetitive operations.
- Work where procedures are of varied or diversified nature and is focused on support services of the organization.
- Budget responsibilities up to $250,000.
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word and ERP accounting software functionality.
- Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data within IFRS standards.
- Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data within IFRS standards and journal entry into SAP.
- Auditing of credit card details and any material misstatements per Company policies.
- Assist with reconciliation of accounts as related to the management accounts for interim and year-end audit and preparation of related schedules.
- Understands internal control policies and procedures put in place to ensure the continued reliability of accounting systems for accuracy and reliability and provide detailed data to internal/external auditors.

Job Details
- Work Location: Eunice, NM/Hybrid
- Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
- Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required
- Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and if required an L level security clearance
- Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.
- Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.
- Responsible for the protection of confidential and proprietary information received during employment, including keeping information in strict confidence, exercising a reasonable degree of care to prevent disclosure to others, not disclosing or divulging either directly or indirectly information to others, and not using the information commercially or for any other purpose other than the performance of their duties for Urenco. Confidential information includes information and data of any kind concerning any matters affecting or relating to Urenco business or operations, including compensation, investigations, financial controls, etc.
Primary Functions
- Record, classify and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with IFRS in a highly detail-oriented and organized manner.
- Apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations by ensuring that all work conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Verify documents for completeness and compliance with internal controls.
- Review and process journal entries into various accounts while performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations with analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolve differences.
- Explain accounting transactions; resolve accounting issues and discrepancies serving to enforce and monitor compliance with company-wide accounting policies and procedures.
- Use various software applications, SAP, BPC and ADRA to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports. Heavy focus on Excel spreadsheets and the required support of auditable content.
- Provide data to support finance department internal/external controls in support of audit team.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Assist managers with preparation of the annual cost center budgets, latest estimates and business plan providing financial guidance.
- Assist cost managers with detail of expenditures through analysis and interpretation of financial data to help the organization and department identify how closely performance is aligned to budgets over a defined period.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
- Train cross-functionally on SAP information retrieval and usage.
- Assist auditors with detail on PBC’s on the test of details at the activity level and area of responsibility.
- Proficient with and aware of the laws and regulations that apply to the accounting function to ensure compliance.
- Demonstrate administrative judgment and assume responsibility for decisions, consequences and results having an impact on people, costs and/or quality of service within the functional area.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting related software packages and spreadsheets.
- Assist in activities related to support services of the Company and may be ad hoc projects in nature. Knowledge of data mining techniques by sorting through large data sets to identify patterns or investigate transaction history.
- Requires good oral and written communication skills. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and other stakeholders in a courteous and professional manner.
