ACCOUNTANT
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
Location: Preston

KEY REQUIREMENTS
- ACCA/ACA qualified with proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of tax, audit, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in managing and mentoring junior team members.
- Proficient in accounting software - Xero, Quickbooks, Taxcalc and Excel

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in managing a diverse client portfolio, providing expert advice, and ensuring all financial matters are handled seamlessly. From preparing complex financial statements to guiding clients on business decisions, this is a role that demands both technical know-how and a genuine passion for helping businesses thrive.
KEY DUTIES
- Preparation and review of annual accounts
- Supervising junior auditors’ and semi-seniors’ work
- Preparation of management accounts at monthly and quarterly intervals for growing clients
- Managing, training and providing support and feedback for junior staff
- Promotion of the firm’s services where possible including representing the firm at business networking and other events
- Preparation of complex VAT returns using the various different scheme available
- Preparation of Corporation tax and Income tax computations and returns
- Review of clients fees and upselling the firms’ services
- Staff work allocation and planning
- Line manager duties to junior staff and apprentices including managing their apprenticeship obligations
- Liaising with the tax / payroll departments to ensure all clients’ needs met
