ACCOUNTANT

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
Location: Preston

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • ACCA/ACA qualified with proven experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of tax, audit, and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior team members.
  • Proficient in accounting software - Xero, Quickbooks, Taxcalc and Excel
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in managing a diverse client portfolio, providing expert advice, and ensuring all financial matters are handled seamlessly. From preparing complex financial statements to guiding clients on business decisions, this is a role that demands both technical know-how and a genuine passion for helping businesses thrive.

KEY DUTIES

  • Preparation and review of annual accounts
  • Supervising junior auditors’ and semi-seniors’ work
  • Preparation of management accounts at monthly and quarterly intervals for growing clients
  • Managing, training and providing support and feedback for junior staff
  • Promotion of the firm’s services where possible including representing the firm at business networking and other events
  • Preparation of complex VAT returns using the various different scheme available
  • Preparation of Corporation tax and Income tax computations and returns
  • Review of clients fees and upselling the firms’ services
  • Staff work allocation and planning
  • Line manager duties to junior staff and apprentices including managing their apprenticeship obligations
  • Liaising with the tax / payroll departments to ensure all clients’ needs met
