A Day in the Life
As Accountant you will be part of the Shared Services Center team based in Bogotá supporting teams and processes in other Medtronic locations

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepares internal and external financial reports.
  • Maintain or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments and income.
  • Compile and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements, prepares and consolidates financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
  • Design, modifies, install, and/or maintains accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions.
  • Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures and internal controls.
  • Participate actively in the knowledge transfer process, transition and go live of work done at the local level in Americas (North America, Canada and LATAM) and transitioning to Bogotá.
  • Communicate actively with our clients and other members of the team promoting standardization of process and continuous improvement for the activities.

Required Knowledge and experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or any other related
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in General Accounting
  • Experience in financial analysis reporting.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and teamwork skills
  • Advanced level of English
  • Proficiency level of Excel and SAP
