Description:
- The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements, preparing financial statements, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping and reporting.
- Ethical Conduct: Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and integrity in financial management.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and verify daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and implement necessary changes.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor actual versus budgeted expenses and revenues, providing variance analysis.
- Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing and payment disbursement.
- Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to management as required.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.
- Oversee the management of inventory, ensuring accurate reporting and valuation.
- Utilize financial software for bookkeeping, financial reporting, and other accounting functions.
- Ensure the financial software is up-to-date and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Prepare and submit regular financial reports to regulatory bodies as required.
- Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax professionals, and other financial experts.
