Description:
We are in search of an Accountant to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. This role primarily involves managing a broad spectrum of grants from private to state and federally-funded ones. The position also requires experience in handling journal entries. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Manage various grant operations, including over 20 different grant cost centers.
- Collaborate and support program officers and staff in developing and implementing financial oversight for grants management operations.
- Ensure appropriate use and accurate reporting of all financial transactions on grants and contracts.
- Take responsibility for completing and submitting various grant reports to funders based on their schedule.
- Handle journal entries and maintain accurate records.
- Use accounting software systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to streamline accounting functions.
- Utilize ADP Financial Services for efficient management of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Conduct auditing and maintain balance sheet accounts.
- Manage customer inquiries and take necessary action.
- Monitor customer accounts and process customer credit applications.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Experience with ADP - Financial Services
- Knowledge of Cl Programming
- Familiarity with Concur
- Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
- Capability to perform all Accounting Functions
- Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
- Experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Ability to perform Auditing tasks
- Experience in managing Balance Sheet Accounts
