Description:

We are in search of an Accountant to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. This role primarily involves managing a broad spectrum of grants from private to state and federally-funded ones. The position also requires experience in handling journal entries. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage various grant operations, including over 20 different grant cost centers.
  • Collaborate and support program officers and staff in developing and implementing financial oversight for grants management operations.
  • Ensure appropriate use and accurate reporting of all financial transactions on grants and contracts.
  • Take responsibility for completing and submitting various grant reports to funders based on their schedule.
  • Handle journal entries and maintain accurate records.
  • Use accounting software systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to streamline accounting functions.
  • Utilize ADP Financial Services for efficient management of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Conduct auditing and maintain balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage customer inquiries and take necessary action.
  • Monitor customer accounts and process customer credit applications.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
  • Experience with ADP - Financial Services
  • Knowledge of Cl Programming
  • Familiarity with Concur
  • Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
  • Capability to perform all Accounting Functions
  • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Ability to perform Auditing tasks
  • Experience in managing Balance Sheet Accounts
