Description:
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accountant at our location in FORT WAYNE, Indiana. This role is integral to our financial operations, focusing on comprehensive financial management, strategic planning, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations including billing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Prepare and present financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making and strategic planning
- Coordinate the budgeting and forecasting processes and work closely with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Oversee annual audits and tax filings
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency
- Provide leadership to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment
- Coordinate the preparation of annual tax returns with CPA firm, ensure inventory, sales, expenses are recorded correctly at year end
- Perform month-end closing activities.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role
- Proficiency in Accounting Functions
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with auditing processes
- Experience with budget processes is required
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Knowledge of journal entries
- Experience in food service management is a plus
- Ability to prepare financial statements
- Experience preparing balance sheets
- Familiarity with income statements and cash flow statements
- Ability to assure compliance in all accounting practices
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Ability to prepare and analyze annual audited financial statements
