Today Space has five purpose-built showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, each with architect-designed interior environments that represent the quality and rigor of the furniture collection.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented accountant who can effectively manage internal financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis. You will work closely with senior management to provide valuable insights, ensuring the business makes informed financial decisions that drive success.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA qualification or aiming towards attaining CPA.
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting or a related finance role.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft business central) and advanced Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of Australian tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, providing insights into key financial metrics, trends, and variances.
- Assist with GST, BAS lodgment, budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop and manage financial plans.
- Conduct cost analysis to identify efficiencies, opportunities for cost-saving, and improvements in financial performance.
- Provide support in purchasing and stocktake.
- Monitor financial performance against budget, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
- Support management with financial data for decision-making, strategic planning, and performance reviews.
- Review and provide feedback to help improve financial systems and processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, standards, and local regulations (e.g., Australian Accounting Standards).
