JOB SUMMARY

Our client is a growing supermarket chain seeking an experienced accountant to support the accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

• Experience Level : Mid level
• Experience Length : 3 years

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accountancy
• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in retailing/ supermarket
• 3 years’ experience in accounting related job
• Previous experience working in a supermarket
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software
• The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply extensive expertise to complex principles and practices of fiscal management.
• Ability to identify, flag, and solve problems from start to finish
• Detail oriented and extremely organized
• Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and fiscal recordkeeping.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Preparing periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, annual reports, and commentaries.
• Maintain and update accounting records promptly
• Assist in processing invoices, and purchase orders, and support in the collection and recording of customer’s payments.
• Review and track supplier invoices, and ensure detailed and accurate information is provided.
• Maintain and update accounting records promptly
• Monitor and record daily sales
• Accurately record financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments to clients, sellers, and suppliers.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve any sales discrepancies on POS payments, and cash transfers for items purchased
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Secure financial information by completing database backups.
