Responsibilities:
The Accountant plays a crucial role in managing, analysing, and preparing financial reports while ensuring that our financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
Responsible for performing various tasks in the key result areas of Financial Analysis & Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting, Bookkeeping, Compliance and Auditing, Internal Controls, Payroll Processing, and Cost Management.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Preparation and examination of financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Management of all accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- Conduct of month-end and year-end close processes
- Analysis of financial statements and providing insights to support decision-making
- Preparation of budget forecasts and monitoring of financial performance against budgets
- Ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns and other regulatory requirements
- Assisting with internal and external audits
- Implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Collaboration with other departments to support overall business objectives
- Assisting Management Accountant in coaching accounts officers and trainees.
- Reconciling processed work
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and corporate credit cards
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliation for trade debtor, trade creditors, prepayment, clearing accounts etc.
- Maintaining all accounting sub-ledgers
- Assisting with month-end process and journal entries to ensure compliance with deadlines
- Providing timely and accurate payment and account standing information
- Maintaining financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls
