ACCOUNTING & ADMINISTRATION GENERALIST

As part of the Finance Community, you will be working alongside the VP of Finance providing finance and admin support to an industry-leading display technology start-up! The Role:
As the Accounting & Administration Generalist you will perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial duties. If you are team oriented, motivated, understand the need for accuracy, then this job is for you!
The ideal candidate will possess an Accounting or Business Diploma, excellent customer service skills, be detail-oriented and be comfortable responding to inquiries in a professional and positive manner.
YOUR Day-to-day Activities:
- Assisting with period-end closes. Responsibilities include bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations, preparing period-end journal entries, preparing financial reports, and helping with external audits.
- Process vendor invoices
- Record payments received.
- Entry of financial transactions, journal entries and adjustments
- Preparation of monthly financial statements
- Collaborating with the VP of Finance, Accounting and Payroll Specialist, and other various team members to help develop and implement financial and operational policies as we scale.
- Manage the Company’s accounts receivable function through the anticipated high growth period, including establishing appropriate processes, controls, monitoring, and reporting.
- Being ready and willing to take on whatever other various tasks might come your way throughout the day to help the team.
TOOLs/Skills you need for your role:
- Excellent skills in writing and oral communications
- Experience in preparing financial reports.
- Post-Secondary education in Accounting or Bookkeeping preferred. Relevant and related experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 1 year experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
