Community Living Society (“CLS”) is an innovative non-profit organization established in 1978. CLS is dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they can live full, productive and meaningful lives. We have over 500 employees and work with over 400 individuals throughout the Lower Mainland.
This Accounting Analyst Role falls within the Finance Department which is comprised of a number of individuals responsible for accounting and financial reporting. This position reports directly to the Manager, Finance and Payroll.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working efficiently within NetSuite Accounting Software.
  • Experience recording Monthly Funding Revenue Transactions accurately based on multi-year Contracts (including monthly Change Orders).
  • Experience reading through and understanding 200+ detailed Annual Revenue Contracts, Respective Terms and Conditions, as well as ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Mathematics, or relevant discipline.
  • Working towards a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or relevant designation is ideal.

  • Strong attention to detail and experience analyzing high volumes of information.
  • Ability to analyze data and exercise sound judgement on reasonableness of inputs.

  • A strong aptitude for working with numbers and understands the fundamentals of budgets, operating budgets and analysis.
  • Able to multitask and be flexible while working independently and in a team.
  • Have a proven ability to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for understanding and applying methods in preparing, calculating and processing accounting reconciliations in accordance with CLS’s financial reporting framework, and government regulations. You will take the lead on Revenue Funding and Grant Contracts changes to existing CLS multi-year contracts to ensure CLS remains in compliance. This requires remaining informed of current Contracts in effect, Contracts in negotiation, New Contracts, and reporting requirements to manage the compliance requirements of the Society. You will also contribute a finance perspective to organizational policy and strategy discussions. You will represent CLS as the initial point of contact for any issues relating to accounting and financial reporting; as such, liaise with and support both internal and external professionals on a regular basis.
