Description:

Reporting to the Manager Accounting and Budgets, the Accounting Analyst will be responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial information for various programs of the Niagara Health System. Team player to work collaboratively with the Finance team of Junior to Senior Financial Analysts. The successful incumbent will be responsible for preparation of analytical reports for financial and payroll data, bank reconciliations, account and variance analysis. Other related duties include budget templates, audit working papers and financial analysis as required for internal or external reporting purposes. Previous experience with account and variance analysis preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

o Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting or Business required.
o Experience in financial analysis and interpretation of results including accruals, prepaid, budget variances and payroll analysis.
o Recent previous experience in bank reconciliations with high transaction volumes required.
o Advanced computer skills specifically in Excel and experience with Crystal Reports, and Power Point.
o Strong working knowledge of financial software packages especially General Ledger and Payroll systems; MediTech financial systems experience an asset.
o Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
o Ability to plan, organize and prioritize many tasks and responsibilities while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team setting.
o Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, judgment and decision making skills
o Self-directed, flexible and able to work effectively with minimal supervision in a multi-disciplinary team setting
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
