Moore Colson is looking for a dynamic accountant with 1-5 years of experience to join our growing Accounting and Business Advisory team in Atlanta. This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the most respected public accounting firms in the country. Our corporate accounting team works closely with our clients to provide flexible and scalable accounting support and business consulting to launch businesses to the next phase of growth.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Superior Excel skills and at least proficient with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
  • Also, experience using Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Prosystems Fx Engagement, Sage 50 (Peachtree), Sage 100 (Master Builder), Sage 300 (Timberline), Sys Pro, or SAP Business One software, is a plus.
  • 1 – 5 years accounting experience with the month-end accounting and close processes, including: preparing journal entries including payroll, reconciling accounts, and drafting management reports (balance sheet, income statement, cash flows, and other analytical reports)
  • Consultative approach and client service oriented
  • Ability & willingness to travel to client locations as needed (mostly local and generally less than 10%)
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-directed, autonomous, motivated
  • Exceptional and proactive communicator (verbal & written)

Considered a plus:

  • Industry experience in real estate, construction, manufacturing/distribution, or hospitality accounting experience a strong plus
  • Experience with payroll processing and related tax compliance
  • Experience preparing Sales & Use Tax returns
  • Prior experience serving clients in a professional services environment

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with projects including but not limited to weekly and month-end/year-end close processes, management reporting and preparing reconciliations
  • Maintaining fixed assets schedules
  • Assisting with system design and implementation/conversion
  • Calculating and reporting indirect taxes
  • Helping clients prepare cash flow and or financial projections
  • Assisting clients with payroll and benefits processing and 1099 preparation
  • Troubleshooting client issues as they arise
