ABOUT THIS POSITION

This is an 8-12 months Full-time, Co-op employment opportunity starting May 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrollment in a post secondary education program with an Accounting major
  • Solid accounting knowledge as proved by good academic records
  • Familiar with using MS office suite and Excel
  • Previous part-time work experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative proactively and work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadline
  • Willing to take on additional tasks when capable and available
  • Ability to speak Mandarin is an asset at this position will collaborate with finance team in China

Responsibilities:

  • Handle account payable cycle
  • Review and process employee reimbursements
  • Make payments and monitor cash balances
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliation
  • Assist with month-end closing and reporting
  • Maintain actual vs budget reports and rolling forecasts
  • Conduct inventory count and match with book
  • Label fixed assets and maintain fixed asset records
  • Filing and mail sorting for the accounting team
  • Provided backup support for AR and other accounting functions
  • Other Ad hoc accounting support as needed
