Description:

We are looking for an organized and meticulous Accounting Assistant. Our ideal candidate has prior office experience, excellent computer skills and enjoys working with numbers.
An Accounting Assistant’s primary responsibilities are to provide back-end support to our Accounting Department in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll processing. You will assist in assuring that all activity is recorded properly; and invoices get paid, clients’ debts are collected, and employee payroll is processed in a timely manner.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Comfortable working in an online/cloud-based environment, as this position is remote
  • Exceptional time management, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Enjoys working with numbers
  • 1-2 years using Microsoft Excel (Intermediate Knowledge)
  • 1-2 years of college or office/clerical work experience
  • 1-2 years of experience using Microsoft 365 Suite and Adobe Acrobat (PDF editor)

Responsibilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions in spreadsheets and bookkeeping software
  • Pay bills online via vendor websites or banking features such as ACH or Direct Bill Pay
  • Document transaction details by gathering and organizing invoices, receipts, and statements
  • File invoices, payments, and receipts digitally
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Communicate daily with department staff and via WhatsApp, email, phone, or virtual meeting platforms
  • Calculate interest charges and other fees
  • Communicate with clients, vendors or suppliers as needed
  • Compile financial reports
  • Notify senior staff of any accounting errors
  • Assist with preparing payroll documentation
  • Assist with other projects as needed
