Description:

The role of the Accounting/Payroll assistant is to oversee financial interactions including accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll, ensure all relevant financial information is properly documented, input, and kept up to date. Additional tasks such as invoicing, reports, and budgeting may also be considered based on previous experience.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Accounting/Payroll Diploma preferred
  • One-year payroll experience is preferred
  • Excellent skills using Sage 50, MS Word, Excel, Access, and Internet Explorer
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Excellent problem solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

Including, but not limited to:

  • Monitor, prioritize, and respond to emails as required.
  • Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable
  • Daily bookkeeping of business transactions
  • Liaise with Accountant to assist with Year End
  • Organize and file all documents by month (hard copy and electronic where possible)
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of semi-monthly payroll.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct other special payroll deductions
  • Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, and other departments.
  • Ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
  • Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to federal/state/local regulations
