Description:

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in Methuen, Massachusetts. Focusing on the finance industry, this role will involve maintaining and developing databases, handling office equipment, managing supply inventories, and assisting in various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining databases for efficient management of financial records
  • Labeling and updating files, both digital and paper, and ensuring they are properly placed for easy access
  • Assisting co-workers by gathering and organizing files and documents for reports
  • Managing supply inventories to ensure smooth operation of office activities
  • Troubleshooting office equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, scanners, shredders, and arranging for maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Responding to phone calls and emails regarding documentation organization
  • Operating photocopy machines and sending faxes as part of administrative duties
  • Handling mail duties which include sorting, delivering, picking up, and sending mail
  • Utilizing skills in Filing, Scanning, and Invoice processing to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Possession of a minimum of one year of experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
  • Proficiency in carrying out tasks such as filing and scanning documents.
  • Ability to handle invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field would be advantageous.
