We are currently looking for an experienced Accounting Associate to work in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Canadian CPA, CGA, or working towards a professional designation is desirable.
  • Minimum two years of financial accounting and reporting experience.
  • Detailed-oriented and highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills and a short learning curve.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Sound understanding of processes and controls supporting the preparation of financial reports.
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Payroll processing, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Payable, including review of invoices and cheque requests, matching invoices with packing slips and purchase orders, and coding and posting transactions.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and respond to vendor queries.
  • Perform bi-weekly cheque runs.
  • Accounts Receivable processing, including recording daily receipts.
  • Manage all GL account activities, maintenance, reconciliations, and assist in month-end closing processes.
  • Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, review monthly results, track expenditures, variance reporting, and investigate significant variances.
  • Assists in evaluating and investigating financial transactions in preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Assists in the preparation of timely and accurate reporting of financial statements in compliance with governing accounting rules and regulations, including compliance.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Promote adherence to internal financial policies and procedures with proper internal checks and balances.
  • Consolidate data presented in various formats for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain historical records.
