Description:
Broadband Maintenance Inc. is a Telecommunication Construction Company in Ottawa and the surrounding area. We are actively seeking self-motivated individuals who possess a high energy level, excellent attitude, and communication skills.
The Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper will report to the Office Manager and work collaboratively as a part of a small Finance and Administration team. The core functions of the role includes the processing of accounts receivables, payables, reconciliation, monthly reporting, government and other remittances, and other data entry and tracking of financials.
Responsibilities:
- Full Cycle Bookkeeping for the organization.
- Responsible for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions including scanning/submission of invoices/receipts, filing and other admin tasks.
- Work with external vendors to reconcile monthly statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Ensure that cash, credit cards, and bank balances are reconciled monthly.
- Process RSP contributions for employees.
- Process government remittances and ensure they are submitted in accordance with current regulations.
- Month and year end reconciliation.
- Controlling correspondence and electronic and hard copy filing systems.
- Prepare all financial reports in accordance with Company standards in a timely manner.
- Ensure payroll is completed in Sage on a semi-monthly basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a bookkeeper ideally in the construction and/or telecommunication industry.
- Practical experience working with Sage 50 is a requirement.
- Completion of an Accounting Diploma considered an asset.
- Excellent written and oral communication in English.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Excel, SharePoint and Word.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
