Job Title : Accounting Clerk
Department : Administration
Reports To : Office Manager
FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Summary
An Accounting Clerk is responsible for data entry, title work, and dealership accounting. Their duties include vendor management, bank reconciliation, and AP/AR. Entry or Intermediate Level Accounting Position. This position will act as an introduction to dealership accounting and provides a career path in the Accounting Department.
As with all positions within our dealership, an Accounting Clerk is expected to be committed to excellent customer service, upholding the highest ethical standards, and as well as being capable of cooperatively with all departments.

Accounting Clerk Essential Duties:

  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables’ data.
  • Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
  • Generate reports detailing accounts receivable status.
  • Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices
  • Perform data entry associated with accounts payable.
  • Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies.
  • Reconcile statements.
  • DMV processing, inventory reconciliation.
  • Submit warrantee purchases, cancellations and verify/reconcile prorated refunds.
  • Address and respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Applying cash
  • Administrating duties including but not limited to, Data entry, word processing, filing, scanning, copying, and faxing.Other tasks as assigned.

  • Proven working experience as Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable Clerk, or Accounting Support
  • Data entry skills along with general math skills
  • Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (ERP or other full-scale ER software)
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • Vendor relationships
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Show ability to adapt new tasks and skill sets when required.

Education/Experience/Licensure:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Exposure or experience in Powersports / Motorsports terminology a plus.
  • Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Attention to detail and an organized workspace.
  • Verifiable work experience in accounts payable and/or account receivable.
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in United States.
  • Must provide own transportation to work with a valid driver’s license and provide proof of insurance. Clean driving record.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Range: $18.00 - $23.00, non-exempt hourly, DOE
