Compensation range: $50-65K annually

The Role: Accounting Clerk
We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our finance team and help manage our accounts receivable and payable operations. This role is critical in maintaining efficient financial operations and ensuring accurate financial records. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day financial transactions while maintaining strong relationships with both customers and vendors.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, well-organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy in financial operations.
What you’ll do:
Accounts Receivable Responsibilities:
- Process customer payments and maintain customer accounts
- Manage invoicing processes and documentation
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Support revenue recognition processes
- Maintain strong customer relationships
Accounts Payable Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices and expense reports
- Issue payments and maintain vendor accounts
- Verify and validate payment documentation
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Maintain vendor relationships
- Support month-end closing processes
Financial Documentation Responsibilities:
- Prepare regular financial reports
- Maintain organized records of all transactions
- Support audit requirements with documentation
- Help prepare month-end closing documentation
- Document processes and procedures
- Ensure accuracy in all financial records
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of AR/AP experience
- Previous experience working with accounting software (Xero preferred)
- Understanding of accounting principles and best practices
- Previous experience working with a First Nation community or organization is an asset
- Experience with financial reporting and documentation
- Familiarity with month-end closing processes
