Description:

Accounting & Contracts Administrator
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina – Fort Liberty
Type: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift
Compensation: $60,000 – $68,000 per year (Depending on Experience)

Skookum is seeking a dedicated and hard-working Accounting & Contracts Administrator with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Compile and assist with financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Assist and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a manner that aligns with monthly closing deadlines.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of operational expenses.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries with appropriate related work tags as necessary.
  • Prepare and Maintain monthly, quarterly, annual reconciliations on Balance Sheet Accounts - Ledger and Bank Accounts.
  • Prepare and Maintain Fixed Assets Records to include the coordination and management of Fixed Asset Purchases, Asset Transfers, Sales/Disposals, Replacements, and Expiring Assets.
  • Assist in the monthly analysis of operational expenses, business line and position alignment by Main Contract.
  • Responsible for preparing and maintaining proper procedure documentation for assigned tasks.
  • Prepare and Maintain an audit database that ensures Maximo and Workday data are properly documented and aligned.
  • Prepare and Maintain contract database, ensuring fully tracked and executed contracts, subcontracts and modifications.
  • Analyze reports using computerized recordkeeping systems; verify accuracy of records and document adjustments.
  • Review compliance with terms and identify conflicts or change requiring resolution or contract modification.
  • Perform appropriate administrative and operational research to support contract development.
  • Ensure that supplier agreements are executed in a manner that effectively produce results associated with the conditions of the negotiations and appropriately manages the risk associated with the receipt of the good or service.
  • Provides guidance to ensure all contracts satisfy corporate requirements, organizational goals, and customer needs.
  • Enforce organizational principles of risk management, clarity, and compliance with respect to customer requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand legal documents and contracts.
  • Responsible for understanding and interpreting the Federal Acquisition process to develop solutions for Customers.
  • Support with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Use various computer and office equipment as well as be able to move throughout the office and manufacturing area to talk/hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, vendors, and others.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
  • Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred or 5 years of equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Facilities Maintenance preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP, Construction Quality Management for Contractors (U.S. Army Corp of Engineers) or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of general business acumen and contract law.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of procedures related to contract management principles.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
