Description:

Creative Team Solutions (CTS) provides back-office supports (finance, IT, HR, payroll and executive services) to not-for-profit organizations. Our Vision is to create capacity and sustainability for non-profit organizations through professional shared service efficiencies. We strive to help non-profit organizations serving vulnerable people to focus on their primary mandates. CTS provides economic value to organizations it supports by offering an alternative for executive, HR, payroll, finance and IT services. We are currently seeking a growth-oriented and efficiency-driven financial analyst to join our team.
Reports to the Finance Manager and works in close collaboration with other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the non-profit sector
· Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations.
· Knowledge of payroll an asset
· Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensures financial records are current, complete and reconciled in a timely manner
  • Maintain general ledgers and balance various accounts using computerized book keeping systems and tracking reports.
  • Post journal entries (both recurring and one time entries) to General Ledger inclusive of payroll postings.
  • Generate trial balance and financial statements.
  • Perform other book keeping services such as bank account reconciliation, preparation of invoices and active monitoring of accounts.
  • Preparation of financial statements, summaries and other cost benefit analysis/report as required.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and monthly management reports.
  • Completes annual charity information return and other related reports
  • Prepares audit working papers and act as first contact during on-site audit.
  • Preparation of government tax (HST and EHT) and related reports.
  • Pro-actively adopt new policies or procedures mandated with the agency.
  • Maintains inventory of assets.
  • Preparation of invoices for cheque processing of payrolls (where necessary) and for utility, tax and other bills.
  • Process collections from individuals and payments for workplace Safety and Insurance board (WSIB), pension contribution and others.
  • Committed to providing superior customer service in all interaction with employees, volunteers, families and people supported.
  • Provide input and problem solving to assist management in operational issues that impact the organization’s finances.
  • Assist supervisors with interpretation of financial data, and provide training and support on financial issues
