All About the Job
We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager! In this role, you will assist the Controller in managing monthly closing, financial statements and reports, accounts payable, revenue recognition, and treasury. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles and best practices, to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Your mission

  • Assist Controller in all aspects of the controllership function including general ledger, month end close process and consolidation, accounts payable, revenue recognition, and treasury.
  • Establish and maintain corporate accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP and other laws/regulations.
  • Promote and maintain an effective internal control environment
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly reporting packages summarizing business results including revenue, expense, and earnings, financial position (balance sheet and cash flow) and other key operating metrics.
  • File sales, franchise and business tax returns in applicable jurisdictions
  • Prepare external financial statements and collaborate with external auditors to ensure completeness of all documentation required for annual financial and statutory audits.
  • Work with Controller, FP&A, and other members of senior leadership and the executive team to prepare board and investor materials.
  • Support the Controller and executive team on key financial and technical accounting decisions.
  • Work cooperatively with and across functions and all levels of the Company on key initiatives and projects
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises the AP and AR function

All About You

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in Accounting,
  • Proven experience in financial management
  • Experience working in EdTech/SAAS companies is preferred
  • Proficiency with Intacct is preferred
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. CPA is desired but not required
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy

  • HQ is in Orange, California. Hybrid work arrangement may be considered for a superb candidate

  • Minimal to no travel

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.

Compensation

  • $100,000 - $125,000 annual salary, based on experience and skills
  • Bonuses awarded for exceptional performance and other metric-driven initiatives
