Are you looking for your next step in your career? We are now looking for a senior accountant to lead our Danish team. This role will be based at our Soborg office, with a hybrid working format and report to the Head of Accounting, Northern Europe.

EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or a similar academic degree in Accounting, Finance/Auditing.
  • 7+ years of finance/accounting experience.
  • Extensive Experience with local statutory accounting, regulations and tax compliance.
  • Experience working in a US HQ and mature shared services environment a benefit.
  • Taxation and transfer pricing desirable.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Language skills: fluent in Danish and English, both verbal and written.
  • Previous financial system experience in Workday preferred.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and IFRS.
  • Demonstrates a ‘can-do’ attitude, able to co-ordinate multiple inputs to provide clear, concise and insightful management information.
  • Excellent communication skills with high levels of proactivity and ability to react with urgency and work collaboratively with colleagues across all business functions.
  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment where priorities must be continually re-evaluated and adapted.
  • Strong Excel and analysis skill

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

  • Ensure all US GAAP month end transactions and analysis are completed in line with corporate close calendar.
  • Operational accounting responsibility includes, but is not limited to: timely and accurate financial reporting to the local, regional and global partners by analysing business results and providing insights into the main drivers vs prior year and forecast
  • ensuring internal financial controls, corporate accounting policies & procedures are adhered to
  • monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations in compliance with SOX controls, inclusive of issue resolution
  • Responsible for local statutory financial statements and filings, audits, tax, vat, revenues and payroll compliance.
  • Maintains an up to date and accurate US GAAP vs Local GAAP reconciliations of financial statements providing insights into the main drivers of the differences.
  • Act as a primary point of contact with Internal and External Auditors agreeing audit plans ensuring any audit points are reviewed and action plans put in place to address by the appropriate teams.
  • Support Front of House Revenue accounting, including the reconciliations between Front of House and Back of House systems, related account reconciliations and controls
  • Responsibility to lead, drive and deliver key business projects as assigned including systems upgrades and new initiatives.
  • Business partnering with operations teams to drive change, add value and maintain commercial awareness.
  • Identification and implementation of process and procedure efficiency initiatives.
  • Advise the local Finance, Sales and Operational teams on new regulations, accounting issues and ad-hoc requests.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting department by leading the local finance team
