Harbor Health looking for a collaborative Accounting Manager to become a member of our team! The Accounting Manager will support the Controller by managing the daily operation of accounting function and assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statement preparation. The Accounting Manager will perform various highly complex accounting transactions and will oversee the reconciliation of capitation payments and related true-up. Other responsibilities include supporting the audit process, suggesting opportunities to improve operational efficiency, and improving internal controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage full cycle accounting process, including but not limited to, preparing journal entries, maintaining fixed asset and depreciation schedules, maintaining intercompany allocation.
  • Perform comprehensive reconciliation of capitation payments and account true-up, and communicate results to stakeholders
  • Perform various complex accounting ledger reconciliations for multiple entities with a high degree of accuracy
  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for multiple entities in connection with preparing the consolidated financial statements and disclosures on GAAP and Statutory basis
  • Monitor and communicate irregularity/variance to the Controller and the rest of Finance team
  • Support the audit process and ensure that findings and recommendations are enforced consistently across organization
  • Assist with other projects and process improvement initiatives as necessary
  • Responsible for updating and upholding SOPs and internal controls across the company

Successful Staff Accountants will have:

  • 5 years of experience and can demonstrate a full understanding of full cycle accounting, consolidation accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Accounting Standard
  • Prior experience in Healthcare or Healthcare Insurance industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields

Additional Skills & Experiences Preferred include:

  • Proficient in MS Office programs and Google Suites
  • Prior experience with NetSuite is a plus
  • Meticulous while being adaptable and able to work to work in a fast-paced environment with limited resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels
  • Practical problem-solver, highly organized, and self-motivated
