Description:
We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager who wants to grow into a controller position. This position will manage the accounting team, set priorities, perform month end closings, and manage financial reporting and analysis. They will work hand-in-hand with the CFO to set strategy and direction. This is NOT strictly a management position; this needs to be a hands-on person. Looking for Candidates in Florida who can work remotely but be able to travel to Southeast Florida a couple of days per month.
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, taxes, and reporting
- Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
- Assess current practices and procedures and assist in developing and implementing improved processes and procedures.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
- Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions
- Manage and develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA required
- Min 7-years’ experience
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Ability to multi-task, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage time accordingly to meet deadlines and requirements of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
- Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks skills. Experience with financial reporting systems.
Compensation:
- $120k - $130k depending on experience
