Description:

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team in BALTIMORE, Maryland. As an Accounting Manager, you will be performing a variety of functions in the accounting department, maintaining and improving systems and procedures, and managing staff performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including managing accounts payable/receivable staff
  • Implement systems and procedures to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
  • Take charge of the general ledger review and manage the month and year-end process
  • Coordinate and complete annual reviews/audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Manage budgeting and cash forecasting to meet financial accounting objectives
  • Conduct revenue and expenditure variance analysis to provide insights into financial performance
  • Authorize check runs and ACH payments, ensuring all transactions are processed correctly
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
  • Act as a back-up for payroll when needed, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
  • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Proficient in managing Accounting Functions
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Knowledge of ASC 842 is essential
  • Experience in managing Fixed Assets
  • Competence in executing Month End Close procedures
  • Familiarity with ADP for Payroll processing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • CPA certification is a plus but not required.
