Description:
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team in BALTIMORE, Maryland. As an Accounting Manager, you will be performing a variety of functions in the accounting department, maintaining and improving systems and procedures, and managing staff performance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including managing accounts payable/receivable staff
- Implement systems and procedures to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
- Take charge of the general ledger review and manage the month and year-end process
- Coordinate and complete annual reviews/audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage budgeting and cash forecasting to meet financial accounting objectives
- Conduct revenue and expenditure variance analysis to provide insights into financial performance
- Authorize check runs and ACH payments, ensuring all transactions are processed correctly
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
- Act as a back-up for payroll when needed, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
- Proficient in managing Accounting Functions
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Knowledge of ASC 842 is essential
- Experience in managing Fixed Assets
- Competence in executing Month End Close procedures
- Familiarity with ADP for Payroll processing
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- CPA certification is a plus but not required.
