Description:
We are seeking Senior Payroll Analyst to join our team in Milpitas, California. In this role, you will manage several accounting processes, establish internal controls, and collaborate with global teams. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, including processing payroll, calculating wages, and ensuring timely disbursement.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Maintain and update payroll records, including employee changes, tax withholdings, deductions, and benefits.
Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Prepare and analyze payroll reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of payroll policies and procedures.
Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure the company’s payroll practices are compliant.
Handle complex payroll inquiries and issues, providing excellent customer service to employees.
Support the year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
Lead and participate in payroll-related projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Mentor and train junior payroll staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in a large, publicly traded company.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvements.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
