Description:

We are seeking a STAT Reporting Manager to join our team in the Financial Services industry, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role offers a long term contract employment opportunity, where you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities involving statutory reporting, data extraction, and reconciliation, among others.

Responsibilities:

  • Extract and process data from Clearwater Analytics to populate AVR templates, investment schedules, notes, SIRIs, and audits.
  • Ensure the accurate and complete transition of data from Clearwater to Wings.
  • Maintain diligence in ensuring each statutory deliverable is completed accurately and within the set timelines.
  • Thoroughly reconcile values to ensure appropriateness.
  • Utilize research capabilities to respond to ad hoc statutory reporting queries.
  • Work on reconciliations, cash application questions, and researching other ad hoc questions when availability permits.
  • Oversee the preparation of AVRs, investment schedules, notes, SIRIs, etc., adhering to statutory reporting requirements.
  • Guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of statutory reporting items, with reviews to be conducted by existing staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Wings and/or Clearwater Analytics to effectively perform job duties.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all work, maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
  • Insurance industry experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, tax, and auditing procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven experience with budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with statutory accounting principles is preferred.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
