Description:
We have an opening for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Richmond, British Columbia. The chosen candidate will be tasked with overseeing our accounting operations, ensuring adherence to GAAP, and managing a full cycle of accounting processes. This role is primarily based in our office, with occasional opportunities to work remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare, review and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Supervise and develop the accounting team for enhanced performance.
- Oversee project and job cost accounting, including calculating the percentage of completion for accurate revenue recognition.
- Consolidate financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Conduct financial analyses, including variance analysis and budget comparisons, and present findings to management.
- Draft and review technical accounting memos for complex transactions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Draft, update, and enforce accounting policies and procedures, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations for direct and indirect taxes, including GST/HST, PST, and other statutory filings.
- Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and facilitating a smooth audit process.
- Assist in managing cash flow, preparing forecasts, and monitoring working capital.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support special projects as required.
- Proficient in Job Cost accounting methods
- Strong understanding of the percentage (%) of completion accounting method
- Knowledgeable in Logistics operations and processes
- Familiarity with the Construction industry
- Experience in Construction Accounting
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Dynamics CRM software
