Description:

As an Accounting Manager you will support the Financial and Management Accounting Mangers’ and their teams during a 2-year accounting system migration. This role is to ensure continuity of accounting deliverables as backfill to the Accounting Managers while they participate in the system project in a part time capacity. Responsible for oversight and support of the Accounting Services Month End and Year End processing, Balance Sheet reconciliations, banking function, fixed assets and coordination of taxation support requirements.
This role provides efficient and compliant support across the CFO team and RAC with management & financial accounting services, tax support, reporting and financial system support.

What will you be doing?

  • Overseeing month-end and year-end accounting processes, including journals, accruals, GL review, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with group policies and timetables
  • Supporting internal and external audit requirements, implement changes in accounting standards, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements in coordination with the Corporate CFO team
  • Redesigning and automate processes to improve efficiency, oversee cross skilling within the teams and facilitate knowledge sharing
  • Manage bank reconciliations, coordinate transactional banking services and forecast group cash balances
  • Manage the Group Fixed Asset register, review GST reconciliations, manage Corporate Credit Cards/iExpenses processing and reconciliations and support the completion of tax returns and ABS returns
  • Developing professional relationships, contribute to the Shared Services Service Level Agreement, assist in talent development, and drive efficiencies aligned with RAC strategy and culture.

What are we looking for in you?

  • Experience in a senior accounting role in a medium/large organisation or division (preferably in a Shared Services Environment or similar)
  • Experience in Financial Systems (Oracle Financials, Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations or similar)
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Commerce/Business majoring in accounting and being professionally qualified as a Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant or similar
  • Expertise in month-end and year-end processes, technical accounting, reconciliations, and financial data analysis and interpretation, with advanced skills in using Microsoft Excel for developing financial workbooks and models
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to redesign and implement new processes, proficient in using financial IT systems and software, and effective communication across diverse audiences and forums.
