QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA designation with a minimum of 3 years of post-designation experience in accounting or financial management.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and government remittances.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Outstanding communication skills to present financial information clearly and effectively.
- Experience in process improvement and implementing accounting best practices.

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
The role comes with a total compensation package comprised of a competitive base compensation $75,000 - $85,000 per year, health, dental & insurance benefits, a wellness spending account, and a Company RRSP matching program. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage our accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, government remittances, and financial reporting. This position requires a CPA designation and a minimum of 3 years of post-designation experience, along with proven leadership skills and a dedication to accuracy and compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the accounting team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure a high-performing department.
- Actively process and manage all aspects of accounts payable, including vendor invoice verification, payment scheduling, and ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
- Oversee accounts receivable processes, providing guidance to ensure timely invoicing, collections, and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and submit payroll and government remittances, ensuring compliance with all regulations and deadlines.
- Compile, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to senior leadership.
- Manage cash flow and budgeting to support the company’s financial stability and strategic objectives.
- Conduct and review month-end and year-end closings, including reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, provincial, and local government regulations and reporting standards.
- Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and implement best practices.
- Maintain and ensure accurate records of financial transactions in accordance with accounting standards.
