Description:
We are seeking an Accounting Manage to join a growing company in the construction/contractor industry located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s in accounting or finance and 2+ years of supervisory experience. CPA is a plus. As an Accounting Manager/Supervisor, you will be expected to lead a team of professionals, manage accounting operations, and ensure risk mitigation and internal control. This role also includes month end close, cash management and banking responsibilities, along with a focus on budgeting and forecasting. Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of accountants to ensure productivity and foster a positive work environment.
- Oversee daily transactions, including approving daily accounts payable and payroll-related disbursements.
- Direct the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactional data, including assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
- Monitor ledger accounts and perform reconciliations related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Administer the corporate retention policy for the safekeeping of all accounting documents.
- Collaborate extensively with Operations Managers to support their strategic business plans with financial systems, meaningful reporting, and administrative processes.
- Coordinate with operational Managers and prepare worksheets for annual budget.
- Maintain the methodology and tools to import budget data into the accounting system.
- Prepare internal and external accounting reports ensuring they accurately reflect the financial operation of the company.
- Maintain expertise in U.S. GAAP accounting and ensure that new accounting guidance is considered and implemented in a timely manner.
- Assist with monitoring compliance with company-wide accounting policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in accounting functions
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with auditing processes
- Ability to handle Month End Close procedures
- Proficiency in Financial Statement Preparation
- Experience with General Ledger management
- Skills in Account Reconciliation
- Experience in making Journal Entries
- Experience in bi-Monthly Payroll processing
- Familiarity with Dynamics Ax, Dynamics NAV, or Dynamics GP software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proven managerial and supervisory skills in an accounting context
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
- Professional accounting certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
