EDUCATION
- Required: An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Desired: A CPA and/or equivalent Chartered Accountant certification.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5-7 years of finance and accounting experience
- Ideally with a Manufacturing background with a top Fortune business.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Excellent understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls.
- Proficient user of Excel; experience with Oracle/R12 ERP (or equivalent), PowerPoint, and Hyperion is desired
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Challenges the norm; introduces and proactively seeks out new insights to strengthen our performance
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting and analysis
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy, approval authority matrix and standard operating procedure; recommends changes to strengthen control environment.
- Design, implement, and monitor processes, controls, and systems
- Carry out accounting treatment and prepares financial documents and supplementary reporting
- Verify accuracy of financial documents and supplementary reporting with accounting procedures and controls and through balance sheet reviews
- Support internal and external audit requirements
- Exercise sound data stewardship - following data policies (retention, privacy, security) and detailing procedures
- Drive continuous improvement and uses systems to increase controls and efficiencies
- Ensure effective data security and controls within ERP, financial systems, and data flows
