Description:
Topcon Precision Agriculture (TPA) is a subsidiary of Topcon Positioning Systems Inc. (TPS). TPA develops and manufactures leading-edge satellite positioning and guidance systems, electronic controls, mapping, monitoring, and land leveling solutions for agriculture.
Job Summary:
Responsible for effectively implementing company’s financial and accounting policy to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations.
- Implement commercial policies and effective internal controls over financial reporting.
- Provide management with relevant information for decision making.
Job Duties:
For Australia:
- Manage monthly financial close. Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to parent company for consolidation.
- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
- Provide financial analysis to Management Team on business performance.
- Preparation of the annual budget for local entity.
Monthly and Annual Budgeting:
- Co-ordinate monthly sales forecasts and submit to Business Planning (BP).
- Work with BP and the Sales Executive Team regarding variances to plan and update rolling projections.
- Allocate revenue goals across regions, customers, and months
- Provide advice and analytics in relation to the above.
Statutory Requirements:
- Co-ordinate the preparation of the annual Australian Statutory Accounts for lodgement with ASIC.
- Implement accounting and tax policies and procedures in line with Australian legislation and parent company requirements.
- Accountable to satisfy requirements of auditors / tax accountants/company lawyers and parent company.
- Ensure appropriate internal controls and procedures are in place to meet audit, business and legislative requirements.
General Management:
- Direct involvement in strategic business decision making.
- Accountable for negotiations on facility requirements with bankers.
- Ensure operational activities are in line with corporate policy.
Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in general accounting work and detailed knowledge of Accounting Standards and reporting requirements.
- Commercially astute, articulate and technically strong with ability to operate at operational levels.
- Excellent communication skills
- Detailed experience with ERP systems and accounting packages.
- Knowledge of S4/SAP system may be an advantage (2-5years).
- High levels of competence with all software accounting systems and Microsoft suite of systems
- Awareness of, or experience in, integration of accounting processes within a global business
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Finance/ Accounting essential
- CA/CPA accreditation essential
