Description:
Our Calgary office has an immediate opening for an Accounting Services Clerk (Junior) to join our Accounting Services Team at Field Law. Our Accounting Services department is integrated across all offices and is responsible for the firms overall accounting functions, preparing and ensuring timely, relevant, and accurate financial information.
Reporting to our Team Lead in Calgary, you will be part of a team responsible to provide support across all offices and will ensure your job duties are done in a timely and efficient manner.

Duties + Responsibilities
Payment processing: Accurately apply payments (cheques, EFTs and wires) received from clients to the appropriate accounts and invoices.
Receive client payment calls related to accounts receivable.
Expense reimbursement processing: Accurately process expense reimbursements in a timely manner.
Work closely with the accounting team, and other firm members to ensure smooth operation of all finance-related activities.
Assist with billings, reconciliations, accounts payables (disbursements/vendor invoices), trust and month-end closing as needed.
Other administrative and ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications + Skills
Completion of high school diploma.
Minimum of 1 years of experience in payment application, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
Experience and familiarity with online banking.
Full cycle accounting experience is a definite asset.
Experience with Aderant is a definite asset.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Organizational skills and efficiency.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
Normal week-day office hours (35 hours).
Hybrid working environment (3 days minimum in the office) after successful probationary period.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
Potential for occasional extended hours to meet month-end deadlines.
