QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong math and research skills.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, specifically Excel and Outlook.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field, preferred.
  • 3-5 Years Accounting experience.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist that will assist the accounting department in daily, monthly and annual activities. The position will be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete records, including ledgers, invoices and receipts. This is a fast paced and demanding role with high visibility within the company. This role reports to the Corporate Controller.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Assist in daily cash application of receipts.
  • Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close balance sheet accounts as part of month end processing.
  • Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
  • Performs Accounts Receivable Collections for a subset of customers. Communicate with customers to discuss account statuses, charges or discrepancies
  • Perform monthly Corporate Credit Card Reconciliation and statement posting using expense tracking software.
  • Review, post and submit bi-weekly expense reimbursement for eligible employees.
  • Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Participates in filings of monthly sales tax reports.
  • Manage shared accounting team inbox to work with customers, vendors and internal team members with general accounting inquiries.
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
