Description:
We are looking for a diligent Accounting Specialist to join our team in the retail industry, based in Chesapeake, Virginia. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including data entry, invoicing, and account reconciliation. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain precise records.
- Handle data entry tasks and ensure all data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Generate invoices for customers and maintain a record of all transactions.
- Efficiently post to accounts receivable payments and ensure all payments are correctly recorded.
- Utilize Microsoft applications effectively for various accounting tasks.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure all financial data is correct.
- Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary.
- Maintain an organized filing system for all accounting documents.
- Utilize skills in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Account Reconciliation to perform job duties efficiently.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Retail industry
- Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Demonstrated ability in Account Reconciliation
- Advanced knowledge and skills in MS Excel
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Familiarity with accounting software and systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
