Accounting Specialist

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in the banking industry, located in Savannah, Georgia. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be expected to handle various accounting and customer service tasks. Your responsibilities will primarily include the maintenance and reconciliation of accounts, executing accounting entries, and addressing customer inquiries.

• Handle account maintenance duties meticulously to ensure accurate records.
• Conduct account reconciliation tasks regularly to verify and correct any discrepancies.
• Process accounting entries to maintain up-to-date financial records.
• Assist with consumer loans when necessary to support the banking team.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to address and resolve customer inquiries.
• Use Excel for various tasks requiring data manipulation and analysis.
• Learn quickly and adapt to new accounting procedures and processes as needed.
• Use your accounting skills and general ledger experience to contribute to the team’s operations.
• Prioritize customer service orientation in all tasks and interactions.
• Assist with other banking-related tasks as required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the banking industry
• Proficiency in account maintenance and reconciliation
• Ability to process accounting entries accurately and efficiently
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting procedures
• Experience in handling consumer loans
• Strong customer service skills and ability to manage customer relationships effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
