Purpose of the Position:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day core accounting functions, providing daily support and guidance to the accounts receivable and accounts payable clerks and ensuring accurate and timely processing. This position will coordinate the resolution of inquiries, provide training, ensure procedures are documented and maintained, identify business process requirements for new initiatives and provide subject matter expertise to internal and external clients.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
Coordinating management activities of all accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
Providing daily guidance and support to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Clerks.
Coordinating resolution of inquiries from customers and suppliers.
Providing subject matter expertise on processes, policies and procedures to internal and external clients.
Ensuring staff have appropriate training and that procedures are documented and maintained.
Participate in the development and implementation of projects and programs to assist in the accomplishment of corporate objectives.
Review existing business processes and make recommendations with a view to streamlining processes and maximizing productivity.
Identify future business process requirements for new initiatives and develop strategies to meet those requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
You bring 4-6 years of applicable experience in a complex business environment, including experience training and supervising staff.
Certification or diploma in accounting is required.
Strong organization and time management skills, and the ability to solve problems independently.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
A proactive contributor and team player, willing to change direction and take on new challenges.
Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems, specifically Infor LN, is an asset.
