Are you a skilled accounting professional ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for an Accounting Supervisor to lead our Finance team and play a key role in managing AP/AR and payroll functions for a workforce of over 500 employees. If you’re passionate about maintaining ethical accounting practices, driving process improvements, and mentoring a dynamic team, we want to hear from you!

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A university degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Progress toward a CPA designation (an asset).
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong expertise in AP, AR, and payroll management, including handling large payrolls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, AlayaCare, or Bamboo HR (considered assets).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage, mentor, and inspire a team.
  • A commitment to confidentiality and sound professional judgment.

Responsibilities:

As our Accounting Supervisor, you’ll:

  • Oversee weekly, month-end, and year-end activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
  • Supervise daily operations, including AP, AR, and payroll functions, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Act as a trusted partner to the Financial Controller, assisting with audits, process flow improvements, and policy monitoring.
  • Manage payroll processing and staff benefits for salaried and hourly employees.
  • Develop internal controls, financial models, and reporting templates to streamline processes and support decision-making.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering growth and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with senior executives on strategic initiatives, business proposals, and resource allocation.
