DESCRIPTION

The role of an Accounts and Tax Senior is to build relationships with clients and to have direct responsibility of client accounts and tax portfolios. They are responsible for the delivery of an outstanding service to clients.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • The successfully appointed individual will be a qualified (nearly qualified) practice accountant (ACCA/ACA/AAT).
  • CTA qualification desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to clients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities:

  • Review team files to ensure all standards, quality and compliance requirements are met and issues identified.
  • Review and finalize accounts prepared by junior staff members, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare corporation and personal tax returns
  • Review VAT returns and submissions to HMRC
  • Provide accounts and tax support for all clients.
  • Provide industry leading insights, solutions, and advice to build the firm’s reputation and client base.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for client queries related to accounting and tax matters.
  • Ensure client work complies with all legal and ethical standards and statutory regulations.
