Role Summary and Purpose
- The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Finance Operations function within the Arch Insurance International entities. They will focus on supporting the quarterly Expense Reporting process and assisting with providing summary data in respect of Expense schedules for key departments, including IT and Facilities. The role will report to the Head of Finance Operations, but will work closely with a UK team, while also liaising with an offshore team based in the Philippines.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assisting with Prepayments
- Assisting with Accruals
- Assisting with Fixed Assets reporting
- Assisting with the preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with Intercompany reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation and issuing of intercompany invoices
- Assist with the production of a detailed IT expense schedule
- Assist with the production of a detailed Facilities expense schedule
- Preparing and uploading finance journals into the Workday ERP system
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly Investment portfolio reconciliations
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Finance, Facilities and IT, as well as communicating with external stakeholders, such as auditors
- Analysis and investigation of queries and to liaise with the business/external parties to resolve in a timely manner
- Assess and review existing processes and suggest improvements
- Any other duties as required.

- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and organisational skills with a proven ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with others within the department and across the Company and wider Group
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect and organise significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and confident in using finance systems such as Workday and Clearwater.
- Proactive, Enthusiastic and a willingness to learn
- Excellent numerical skills
Qualifications
- Educated to A Level with Maths GCSE grade A* to B
- Bachelor’s degree in a finance related subject is desirable
- Currently studying/an intention to study towards an Accountancy qualification
Experience
- Insurance/Finance experience is desirable, but not essential
- Experience using Workday would be beneficial
