Description:

Bennett Construction are recruiting a Part-Qualified Accountant or Qualified Accounting Technician to join their finance team in head office in Mullingar.
Reporting into the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with management account preparations, oversight of the accounts payable process and processing of tax returns (e.g. VAT, RCT, CIS).

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant third level degree (2.1 minimum) in accounting, finance, business or related field
  • Professional accountancy qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ATI/IATI – newly or Part Qualified considered
  • 2 years min recent relevant experience within a similar role.
  • Excellent attention to detail is required.
  • Experience using SAP Business One is desirable.
  • Strong IT skills and proficient across the MS Office Suite particularly in Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good communicator with ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional environment.
  • Hours are 9am-5.30pm Monday -Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with the preparation of the quarterly management accounts.
  • Bank reconciliations for Irish and Uk construction companies.
  • Oversight of the accounts payable process ensuring VAT and RCT/CIS is correctly applied for subcontractor payments.
  • Assistance with monitoring and follow-up of accounts receivable
  • Processing of supplier payments for the UK and Irish construction companies
  • Posting and recording of credit card expenses
  • Involvement in year-end Audits
  • Perform relevant reconciliations to and within the General Ledger and participate in all Balance Sheet Reviews
  • Involvement in accounts preparation including P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Involvement in the preparation of Statutory Accounts and consulting with external auditors.
  • Assistance with VAT, Intrastat and RCT compliance
  • Assistance with accounting for group property investments and service charge implementation / accounting
  • Assistance with implementation of new accounting systems
  • Other ad hoc duties assigned by the Head of Finance
