Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

We are seeking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a full-time fixed term 6-month contract for our Drogheda Branch. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day financial duties that contribute to the effective running of the credit union.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Tasks:

  • Count, reconcile and lodge receipts daily and prepare cash lodgements for banking.
  • Balance and post standing orders, direct debits and CT lodgements to members’ accounts daily.
  • Maintain and reconcile controls for various financial aspects such as unpaid cheques, foreign exchange, Postpoint, etc.
  • Post payroll files to members’ accounts and act as a point of contact for these accounts.
  • Reconciliation of all bank statements for month end.
  • Liaise with marketing department and prepare monthly donations cheques.

Financial Record Maintenance:

  • Maintain the Credit Union’s financial records by accurately posting daily general ledger transactions.
  • Prepare monthly management and financial reports in a timely manner.

Auditing and Reporting:

  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with management, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Run end-of-month reports as required and forward them to relevant staff members.
