About the Team
Our West Malling office is dedicated to Client Accounting, comprising three services: Rates Payment Managements Services (RPMS), Corporate Property Management Finance (CPMF) and Investment Property Management Finance (IPMF).
- RPMS brings together our expertise in rating surveying, ICT and rates accounting to introduce financial discipline, efficiency and liquidity to the payment of our clients’ rates bills. The team is responsible for processing annual rates liabilities of more than £1 billion on behalf of businesses including: BP, Costa, JP Morgan and Whitbread.
- CPMF combines our property management expertise with strong accounting knowledge to manage the finances for our corporate occupier clients’ property portfolios. Making payment to our client’s landlords for Rent and Service Charges of over £700 Million per year. Clients include Costa, WH Smith and Whitbread plc.
- IPMF combines our Property Asset Management team with strong client accounting team to manage the financial aspects of our investment clients’ portfolios. Collected rent and managing service charges and providing comprehensive reporting. Clients include Daily Mail Pension Fund, Christs Hospital Foundation and Allen & Overy LLP.
Job Description
A new role to join our Property Management Finance (PMF) team as an Accounts Assistant has arisen due to increased client work. This role will be within our IPMF team and will work alongside the Portfolio and Asset Management Surveying team.
Main responsibilities
Will be required to undertake a wide range of property management accounting functions including:
- Accounts Payable – inputting supplier invoices, completing supplier account reconciliations and dealing with refunds
- Treasury – Assisting with daily banking and posting income against tenant debtors
- Credit Control – Analyse aged debtors, liaise with tenants to collect arrears and monitor fund balances
- Bank Reconciliations – completing monthly bank reconciliations.
- Supporting the IPMF Accounts team with other tasks as and when required including raising tenant rent, service charge and adhoc demands
- Maintain central tracker of system amendments and changes.
About you
- Experience within Commercial Real Estate/Property Management with an understanding of RICS regulations
- Experience of using computer-based property management accounting systems, e.g. Yardi Voyager (preferred) or TRAMPS
- Excellent Excel skills
- Happy to work from our London office as and when required by the team
- Strong interpersonal ability coupled with rapport building, effective listening, questioning and summarising skills
- Ability to demonstrate excellent client care
- Planning and prioritising skills
- A high degree of flexibility and the ability to adapt to unexpected changes initiated by either the client or the department
- Strong drive for results in order to maintain momentum and complete the task
- The ability to use knowledge and information to spot and develop opportunities on the client’s behalf

Working Hours
While the normal hours of work for the Firm are 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with one hour and fifteen minutes being allowed for lunch each day, the RPMS and PMF team hours are Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch and split their working hours on Fridays only, alternating between 8.30 am to 1.30pm with no lunch break, and 8.30am to 4.30pm with 45 minutes for lunch. We also offer great flexibility around our core hours, which are from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. You can choose to start and end your day around these hours, provided you still do your 7.25 hours per day (e.g. 8.00 am – 4.30pm, 10.00 am – 6.30 pm). There is no requirement for this to be the same each day, but you are required to keep your manager informed. This position also involves out of hours working on an ‘as necessary’ basis.
