SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Certificate in Accounting or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role and legal accounting experience advantageous;
  • Understanding, interpreting and conveying relevant accounting requirements;
  • Drafting and negotiation skills amongst other skills relevant to the position descriptions.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support and back-up to the Financial Controller and wider Finance Team including:
  • Responsible for processing all creditor invoices;
  • Management of Controlled Money Accounts;
  • Process Daily Cheque Requisitions;
  • Reconciliation of General Ledger, Bank Accounts and Credit Cards;
  • Assist accounts receivable with daily banking;
  • Assist with credit control and company debt collections (Nationwide Recoveries);
  • Comply with Quality Control procedures;
  • Comply with Quality Management System requirements;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality requirements: and
  • All other duties as required by the Accounts Manager/General Manager.
  1. Projects - Collaborating with teams to work on various accounting projects.
  2. Reconciliations - Performing reconciliations of accounts/credit cards/bank / Trust & CMA.
  3. Payments - Processing payments and invoices accurately and within expected time periods via our banking portal.
  4. Accounting - Verifying financial statements, ledgers and accounts and making corrections where appropriate.

  5. Reporting Preparations

  • Preparing profit and loss accounts sheets/balance sheet/Cashflow for Monthly Reporting; and
  • Preparing the yearly budget/forecasts (and ad hoc adjustments).
  1. Trust & CMA - Maintaining Trust and controlled monies reconciliations and assisting with preparation of Trust Audits.
  2. Company Insurances - Preparing Insurance returns (public liability, workers compensation, motor vehicle, contents, professional indemnity, business / cyber insurances).
  3. External Providers - Liaise with external accountants with Super, Payroll Tax, BAS and other ATO requirement.
  4. Policies - Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements. Review as need be.
  5. Collections – Liaise with our lawyers for debtor collections and creditor payments.
